Mission / Core purpose of the Job
The Manager : Regulatory Affairs will provide support to Bayobab in driving its required regulatory compliance and on regulatory matters on various projects and in particular will support in the following areas :
- Developing and executing the regulatory engagement strategy in our target markets to ensure successful business establishment and license applications.
- Handling documents and correspondence in English and French and ensuring efficient business translations.
- Draft and review regulatory applications and memoranda.
- Assisting with external regulatory stakeholder management in our targeted markets.
- Provide strategic oversight of regulatory risk and stakeholder management of government authorities, regulators and policy makers within those identified target markets.
- Provide support in developing relevant reports to Group on the Project

The Manager : Regulatory Affairs will be accountable to achieve the following objectives :
Provide regulatory assistance to drive our KPIs in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders.Draft, collate and review documents required for license applications and other regulatory applications required to operationalise our businesses, conduct regulatory risk assessments for target projects and advise on any required regulatory compliance initiatives.Leverage knowledge and understanding of French language and francophone regulations to ensure regulatory compliance and efficiency of regulatory applications, regulatory compliance requirements and on various business projects.Build relationships with key external stakeholders and support lobby efforts with the relevant stakeholders.Role Deliverables.
Support to internal and external stakeholders.Timely submission of relevant regulatory applications including all translations in French as required by the local regulatory authorities.Correspondence with regulators and other external stakeholders in French.Compliance with regulatory requirements.Project updates and reporting.Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Competencies and Working Conditions)
Education :
Bachelor of Law (LLB) or other recognized law degree.Admitted Attorney to a national bar council.Fluency in both English and French is essential.Experience :
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Regulatory Compliance and Regulatory engagement within Africa in a telecommunications, technology or digital focused company.Worked across diverse cultures and geographies.Experience in telecommunications environment.Competencies / Skills :
