To accompany us in this light, we seek a Reconciliation Officer who will be responsible for the daily reconciliation of financial transactions between Smobilpay and service providers, as well as reconciliation of bank statements. The role ensures the accuracy and completeness of financial data, identifies discrepancies, and supports the accounting team with month-end reporting. The ideal candidate is analytical, highly proficient in Excel, proactive, and demonstrates a strong spirit of innovation and teamwork. The ideal candidate shall report to the Financial Controller.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to;
- Perform daily reconciliation of collections and payments for various services across Smobilpay and service provider platforms.
- Reconcile daily bank transactions and balances to ensure alignment with internal records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies by identifying affected PTNs (Payment Transaction Numbers) and follow up with the Operations team for corrections.
- Maintain and update reconciliation trackers and reports in Excel with a high level of accuracy.
- Ensure that reconciliations are completed within defined timelines and escalate unresolved issues.
- Collaborate with service providers and internal teams (especially Operations and Accounting) to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
- Generate and provide complete, accurate reconciliation data and summaries to the Accounting team for month-end financial closing.
- Suggest and implement improvements in reconciliation processes and tools.
- Participate in audits by providing relevant reconciliation documentation and clarifications.
- Maintain proper documentation of reconciliation activities for reference and control purposes.
Requirements
